MoBo Instal Question

I just notice that my Antec 900 is missing the gold feet that hold the Motherboard off the case. Its only one gold pin thats missing, so it wont make a difference/short out the MoBo right??

The gold feet are only there to hold it off the case?

I sure wouldn't put it together without it. It will put undue stress on the motherboard.

the "gold feet" your talking about are called RISERS and there pretty important to support the mboard and should be placed in the proper positions most mboards have the holes clearly positioned if the riser your missing is near the middle you may get away with it but if its at a corner or along the edges i would take the time to remove, fit the missing riser, and remount, not worth ruining a perfectly good board for a few pence riser, and little bit of time.

There is honestly no uneven stress on it. Its in the top right corner by my memory. So that issue is okay.

It wont short out right?

As long as the rest are there i cant see it been a problem,Alot of people dont bother putting them all on anyway :)

Thanks for the help =] yea its a good half half inch off the case or so. When I get some more Ill put it on.

Stock fan on an AMD Phenom X4 955 feels so tight trying to strap it down =[ scares me because I don't want to ruin the CPU or MoBo

I put a pea size of thermal paste and smeared it to a even distribution of a quarter size, good?

The gold feet are A NEEDED item without it the mobo WILL short out upon first running contact with the case i haev had this happen before

got my MoBo hooked up and everything else is in place, but now it comes up to a blue screen and says load failure, restarting for your safely... so I can only restart it in safe mode. But, i have no idea how to update my hardware form there, or in BIOS, or anything for that matter.

Im pretty new to this.
