Mobo problems

I recently got done building my first computer, but when I went to boot it up nothing was displayed on the monitor. I'm using an ABIT AN8 SLI and after some searching I found that a number of people with the same mobo are having the same problem. I've tried clearing the CMOS, hooking up different monitors, unhooking everything and reassembling it outside the case barebone, and unhooking and rehooking all the wires but I can't find a visible problem. Does anyone know what to do?

My specs are: Athlon 3200+, ABIT AN8 SLI, GeForce 6600 GT OC, 2x 512MB Kingstons, Seagate 300GB, Raidmax 450W, AudioMax 7.1

That isn't enough, I'm afraid. Most newer model motherboards require at least 16a on the 12 volt rails, 18a would be much better.

It isn't the wattage that is important, look for the amperage for the rails... like I said, you 16a or better on the 12 volt rails.

Even so, you're machine should post... I think you have other problems unless the power supply is just dead

I agree. My comp (in sig) ran fine on my old PSU, which had only 15A on the +12V rail.

Can you clarify this a little? Do the fans, etc... spin up or does nothing happen at all? Any error beeps?

Did you connect the ATX +12V power connector (4 pin) to your mobo? Forgetting to do that will cause the computer to not boot at all.

So would a 600W PSU work?

Read PSU 101 if you decide to get a new power supply

Yeah I checked and I got all the connectors in. And the computer itself sounds like its working, the fan in the psu, the video card, and the one in the back of the case work. It beeps once when it's booting up, but the monitor doesn't do anything.

Replace the Power Supply. Remember you get what you pay for. You buy a cheep Power supply you are wasting your money. When buying a new power supply READ THE REVIEWS.
