MOBO Question

I am doing a little tune up to my computer and am trying to find out how much my MOBO will support etc. As far as I can figure it is an AMD 756.
I have an AMD Athlon 800mhz "thunderbird" processor #2510079. I have already bought a new harddrive, DVDRW, and RAM. I would like to get a faster processor and would like to know what it would handle. I installed addtional RAM today for a total of 384mb and can definitely see an improvement in speed but would like to have 512mb or even 1gb. Will my MOBO support that? Anyway here is what I've got and what I'm doing. Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated.

Old:
CPU: AMD Athlon 800mhz

HDD: Seagate 20gb
RAM: 128mb PC133

New:
HDD: Western Digital WD800JB 80gb EIDE
DVDR: I/O Magic 8X Internal IDE
RAM: (2) 128mb PC133 SDRAM Sticks (384 total)
CPU: ????
 
well.. the fastest thunderbird you can find it a thunderbird D 1400MHz.
your mobo may support an early AMD Athlon ' palomino' processor. (my old k7t LE supported up to a 1800+ palomino. )
whats the Mobo brand/type?
 
I think it's an AMD 75 or 756? This is what it says when I run everest.
