i was looking at the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 and this RAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145034

the RAM has latency 4-4-4-12

my question is, can the mobo support the RAM? i asked this because in newegg, they put a notice as follows copied directly from newegg

Notice: Only DDR2-800 memory supporting JEDEC approved 1.8V operation with timings of 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 is supported on Intel Desktop Boards based on Intel 965 Express Chipsets.

so if i put this RAM in that mobo, will it work? i have seen some people recommend the two together but im a bit worried...

thanks for the help

Check Gigabyte's website. I don't see why it wouldn't work, but when I get RAM for a system, I try to get what's listed as their guaranteed compatibility RAM listed on their site.

It appearant a standard clause, I see this clause at quite a few discription.
If you have any doubt, I suggest you go to Gigabyte website and contact them to see if you could find out the answer

The disclaimer on newegg was because this board, and every other 965 board, had trouble with high performance DDR2 with the early BIOSes. It should be OK now and I think corsair was one of the brands that was OK anyway.
