Hello, I am stuck without a mobo. I am planning on purchasing an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane2.1 GHZ Processor, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103774,
and I can't pick 1 out of the mobos available only on tech specs. All I care is that it has onboard video, but has a pciex16 slot if i get a video card in the future, is am2(duh), is 1000mhzHyperTransport/2000MTS(also duh), has sata 300gb/s, and has at least 4 back usb ports. Also, I would prefer it to be under $75. Thank you in advance for any help!!

P.S. Does anyone know about how far this processor can be oc'ed on stock cooling?

Thanks for ideas! I havn't chosen yet but I'll keep looking. Also, I have everything i need forthis system accept psu, mobo, cpu, and ram. If any one has any other suggestions for those parts, please post!

How do you think that, the Asus on newegg is 94 bucks and it 83 bucks on Zipzoomfly and newegg is out of stock on the Gigabyte and its cheaper at Zipzoomfly too. All those in your link are AM2 not AM2+ boards. Biostar-ECS and PCchips are all lower end boards. AM2+ boards have PCIe 2.0-Hypertransport 3.0 and support for DDR2 1066 if you upgrade to a Phenom later. I could show you some good AM2 boards if thats the way you want to go, but you will have less of a upgrade path later.

to stranglehold

Sorry, must have read prices wrong! when i take out all of the biostar, ecs, and pcchips board, 4 out of 6 are am+, but 3 out of those 4 support phenom, and 2 of those 3 support phenom fx. Ohhhh!!! o.k. I just need a cheepish setup, and at first i thought am2 would be cheaper than am2+. All i need are mobo, ram, cpu, and psu. would you mind helping?

Those boards in your list are just AM2 with a bios update to recognise a Phenom, they still have the spec. of AM2
A cheap AM2+ System with the X2 4000 you had picked out. But will have better support for the Phenom if you upgrade more later.

2 things:

1. whats wrong with the cpu i found? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817148027
it has 2 more 4pin(whi9ch i may need) and 2 floppy(which i do need) and same pcie 6pin(probably wont need, but might), both are dual 12volt rails, and mine is only 2 12volt amps less. And it's 20 dollars cheaper without it's $15 mir.

2.If i do upgrade it, probably won't be to a phenom, unless it gets under $60,
i am literally on a $250 budget, and want to save $50 for tax and s&h. also, i don't need pcie 2.0, but all i do need is at least 1 pcieX1 speed, at least 1 pcieX16 speed, and at least 2 pci slots, sata 3gb/s, and onboard graphics

but still, thanks for all your help, and please don't hate me!:o
