hi guys ive narrowed my CPU down to the
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115003

or the e6700 (but prolly not). and im wondering what mobo everyone would suggest.

if it helps any i will be getting the EVGA 8800 640mb version Video card and 2 gigs of ram (2 1 gig sticks) either OCZ or Coursair. and id like to have the option of running 2 8800 cards in the future, so pls make sure it has 2 PCI-E slots :D

thanks alot for any and all imput.

awsome man, your system is just what i was looking for, only thing i have a question to is, don't i need two PCI-E slots for dual Video cards??

I do think so. That's the only thing that I could find wrong with the mobo that he suggested. Check out the one in my sig.

Hi CharmPeddler, I would recommend to you the -- Abit Fatality FP-IN9-SLi
It supports SLi, core 2 extreme, and core 2 quad.

http://www.abit.com.tw/page/uk/moth...=Fatal1ty+FP-IN9+SLI&fMTYPE=LGA775&DEFTITLE=Y

I've had this MOBO for about a week and am quite pleased with it. I'm running it with a core 2 duo e6300, 1Gb 800mhz RAM, 7600GS. It plays all games reasonably but obviously my GPU and RAM does hold me back a bit. I couldn't find a link for newegg so the link is to the manufacturers page.

Ahh, well i guess thats a good reason too. well it will be a month still before i get it, so i'll check it out again before i make my final decesion.

BTW this is my 100th post !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOTNESS

uh........wait a minute....why SLI or Crossfire? Why pay the price for two video card without getting twice the performance? Go with the new 8600 coming soon or the 8800 320, or why not go to 8800 640.
