mobo wont stop beeping...

So I just got a new e6400 processor, gigabyte ga-965g-ds3 motherboard, and a gig of corsair xms2 ram. I put it all together about two days ago and everything ran fine. Then I started getting a weird beep on start up. I'm actually not sure if this beep was there the whole time or not because I didnt really pay attention. Its a long then short beep which the book says it is a DRAM or M/B error.

So I updated my bios hoping it would help but it didnt help. It just starts beeping the whole time my computer is on. Its one short beep which means its a power error. Sometimes the beep will be a little longer and the cpu fan will stop but then start up when the beep stops.

Im thinking its the power supply but Im not really sure. I took out all my cards and only have one hard drive plugged in and its a 500W psu. Anothe reason I think it may be the power supply is because the psu only has a 20pin and the mobo has a 24pin...but i didnt think it would be that big of a problem.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ok so I replaced the psu...but it didnt help, it still did the same thing. So I went into the bios and disabled the "warn if cpu fan stops" and the beep stopped. Is it possible that the cpu fan stops if its not needed...and the motherboard thinks its failing? Or is there a problem with my fan?
