getting an x2 4800 and need a mobo. preferably a asus board. i would get dfi but i dont plan to go overkill on the overclock. i might do some light overclocking with the big typhoon heatsink im getting but thats it for the beginning. any ideas?

hes right though ata150 are pretty bad i suggest getting a sata 2 or sata one maybe...its up to you though
 
yes, the 7900 will work fine in that motherboard, but if you can wait a little while, there will be some new chipsets coming out, otherwise, you're good to go.

The problem was not with what you said, but that you didn't help with his choosing of a hard drive. When you say something like that, it's nice to offer a better product for him.

Have a look at this HD, has some nice stuff, 20 more GB, and SATA 3.0Gbps.
