So i have a question, I have a wireless router a modem and a switch all set up in my closet so all the comptuers in my house can access the interent but it is such a mess with all the components, and i keep having to power cycle evertyhing about once a week cuz my internet will go down on me. i know there is a modem with wireless router in one, but is there anything really good that comes with more than just the standard 4 ports??

There are wireless router/dsl modem combos out there (assuming you have DSL).

As for ports, you're going to have a heck of a time finding a consumer router with more than 4 ports on it. Just grab yourself a switch (if you think your current one's acting up). A switch shouldn't interfere with the connection at all

If you need to power cycle all your hardware every week, you're having a problem somewhere. Hell, I can't remember the last time I had to reboot any of my network hardware (I have a cheapo speedstream modem hooked to a WRT54GL), very rarely do I run into problems with the internet connection at all and I live in the bush.

I would first start by checking for NIC updates for the driver software.

i checked for updates on everything and its all updated. For some reason I go through routers like they are going out of style. I replace them like three times a year which is way too often for a router. My switch is working fine its a brand new one and is fine as long as the connection gets to it
