Hi guys, here I am again for you expert help on buidling the best and getting the most for my money!

This Time I'm building a computer for my brother and this will be what he'll be using it for:

Gaming, DvD burning, and Internet. Also he needs a wireless network card.

The budget is $750.00 and he does not need monitor, keyboard or mouse.

By the way this is the case he wants.

I'm not the best one to help you, but have some patience, say 24 hours before getting a response to this. Information like this takes awhile to compile... :)

Total 870 $ US. a beast of a system.
sorry for the overbudget, but it is a nice rig.
PS total includes the case. but no optical drives/hard drives or mouse/keyboard.
Still, for $1000 or so that's a very nice rig.

I'm sure you could find the same specs on an alienware machine for twice the price :P .

It would be much easier if you gave us a base of parts, then we look through and make corrections and changes. Because not all of us have extra time to build computers for everyone.

Here ya go
The Case...

Athlon 64 3200

Abit KN8

ASUS DVD/CD burner

Corsair ValueRAM

Antec Smartpower 2.0 400Watt
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103935 $55

Sapphire X800PRO
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102465 $173

Wireless Network Card

120GB HDD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144232 $74

A tiny bit overbudget but a good system and I think i got everything you needed. If you cant go over $750 at all, scrap the 120GB HDD for an 80GB HDD and that should put you below $750...

1. Directly asking mods will prolly get the thread being the thread deprioritized
2. Bumping quickly is also likely to get a thread deprioritized

Now for a system that actually matches your budget
- AMD Athlon64 X2 3800 [S939, Manchester, ADA3800DAA5BV]($313)
- Chaintech VNF4($54)
- Maxtor DiamondMax10 200GB 16MB($89)
- Buffalo Major 2x512 CL2.5($71.95)
- NEC 3550A($39.75)
- Logisys Area51 + 450W [12V@25A]($37.5)
- Sapphire X1600Pro 512MB($144)
SUBTOTAL = $749.2

Thanks Praetor, and sorry for posting the way I did.

I like the set up you suggested, the only thing is is the memory you suggested good enough for gaming or should I spend a litte more there?
Please let me know.

Thanks!

A. notice how gALOSAT already posted after preator which makes your post uneeded since gAlOSAT could of said that himself if he needed too.

B. my guess is praetor dont waste his time specing accessories which you can get for $6.

prae, half your links dont work :P Anyways, wouldn't this 7900GS beat the x1600 pro?

Dude stop randomly spamming "lol" into threads.

This thread is over a year old. Of course links and specs will have changed. chipnibbles, Please don't bump threads this old unless you have something useful to add to them.
