modular cabling

I am looking at a power supply that has modular cabling. it seems like a nice feature, but what are it's real advantages? The only thing I could think of is that you can take out the cables you don't need and put them in if you happen to need them someday. Don't get me wrong, that sounds nice, but it's quite a bit more money. Just wondering if it would be worth it.

Just wondering if it would be worth it.
its upto you, I mean if you running bleeding edge stuff and need to worry about space and cooling then sure get it. But tbo if you have to ask then you probably dont need it.

The psu i have is modular and very powerfull and it isnt breaking the bank - maybe you should look into the hiper range

I'm looking at the blue Hiper 580W one. No, it's not too expensive, I was just saying that it generally is more than a regular PSU w/o modular...

They take up less space and give the inside of your case a neater appearance. Some better airflow as well.

If you were really worried about airflow but didn't need a modular PSU, you could allways buy sleeves to put on the wires of the new PSU?

Personally, I think it's worth it....... It's a lot easier to just remove excess cords than try to hide them away somewhere in your case; a lot less clutter.

modular lines increase resistance, you get less power.

get a gamexstream 600/700, you can easily make a bunch of the leftover cables and hide them behind the drive bays, or just suspend them in the top of the case
