I just bought a new computer and it was working fine for a couple months. For the last 5 days I haven't turned it off however because I am downloading some stuff. Well last night, I decided I should give my computer a rest. So i turned it off. But this morning, I tried to turn it on but it doesn't do anythign at all, not even a sound. The monitor and speakers can turn on. I've tried hitting the breaker and unplugging it from the outlet. Can somebody please help me?

If its doing nothing- no lights- no sounds- nothing, my guess is the power supply? make sure the cord is pluged in good on the back of the computer

Why would the power supply all of a sudden fail? is it because I overworked the ocmputer? this is only a few months old

You could try recycling power on the supply by first unplugging the ac cord and then pressing the power button to discharge the caps. Usually you turn the breaker off first to unplug the supply and then back on to hit the power switch. Look at the power light while doing that. Then replug the ac cord back in to see if it starts. Other then that a supply failure or a possible overheat of the cpu or chipset can see a failed hardware.

What is the brand of the supply and your system specifications. If you bought a case with a cheapy supply it wouldn't be any big surprise to see that go. You can also look over the board for any type of discoloration from a failed component there.
