monitor coating question

Does the coating on my monitor screen affect the picture quality. I washed the screen with windex and i'm not sure wether i damaged the coating. All the coating is is anti-static right? Nothing I should worry about for image quality? I have a NEC Multisync FE770 Flat screen monitor (CRT).

Well next time you're going to wash your monitor try some Anti-Static Cleaning Wipes there made for Electroical Equipment, and no you didn't damage you're monitor I used to do the same thing with Windex.

I usually wash my monitor with soap and a soft fabric. It's more efficient than those fancy wipes (and much cheaper :D ).
You can't destroy the coating by washing it, because the tube is vacuum coated (so the coating's atoms are effectively confined between the glass's atoms).
Just don't scratch it.
