Monitor dead?

Well last night I was just lisitening to music and my monitor went into stand by, so I just moved and it "woke up". So about 20 or so minutes later it went into stand by again, I tried to wake it up, but notihng happened. I then turned my computer off and restarted, but nothing would appear on the screen. All that happened was that the led next to the power switch would constantly blink. I then complete turned off my computer, psu and surge protector and still nothing worked, the light just continued to blink. I made sure to check all connections, but to no avail. Any help would be great, Bob

Key monitor facts:
-19'' ViewSonic E90F+ (CRT)
-About 3 years old

It sounds like the monitor is dead. I don't think it's your video card because your computer didn't make any beeping sounds. If you have a spare monitor try plugging that in or go to a friend's house and plug their monitor into your computer and see if it works.

Ok, so if it is dead. What part do you think died? Also just curious how much does it cost to get a monitor repairer?

Thanks, Bob.

What failed? Your guess is as good as mine. Do not waste your time or money repairing a dead monitor... unless it's in warranty, you'll spend less buying a new one.
