Lately my monitor has been jittery and one day when i booted it up the sides of the screen were rounded in/curved. any idea what's wrong?

If you've got a CRT, yes, it probably is dying... Trying tweaking the settings some; maybe it'll last a bit longer. Perhaps bumping the Hz down a bit?

Worst case, you'll need a new one. LCDs are good for sharp images, they have a very small footprint, produce less heat, and are easier on your eyes(for the most part) CRTs tend to support much higher resolutions, are cheaper, and images respond faster.

Sounds like its dying, but on some adjustments on the bottom of the monitor you can make your monitor do that.

Could always adjust your guns in the monitor like I did...

For a non-techie? Do you really want him to electrocute himself? :P Those electron guns can have up to 10,000 volts running through them, And it can be stored in them for weeks, even months after it's been unplugged. Talk about scary.. lol.
