Monitor for Gaming

Im pretty sure crt will always be better for gaming. but i prefer lcd no matter wat, it has a sharper picture and looks better all around. get an lcd with a low response time and it will be great for gaming.

do u have a budget?
 
Agreed... CRT's are usally better because of their responce time, though a LCD typically will do pretty well as long as it's 12ms or faster... I have an 8ms LCD and I have no problems with ghosting. However, I'm not a major gammer, so this doesn't bother me as much.

Also, LCD's tend to be sharper, as mentioned, as long as you run them at their native resolution. They are also ALWAYS easier on the eyes(aside from being so darn bright at times :P) But yeah, I'm stuck on LCDs
 
As others have said, CRT's have better response times but LCD's generally look better because of its higher contrast and brightness.
 
CRT have better resolution capabilities, no? I was looking at 19" and the max reso on most is like 1280x w/e. Why does the CRT outperform it in resolution capabilities
