Hello, I hope that someone can help me out here....
First of all... I have very little knowledge on computers, so forgive me if I ask 'silly ' questions.

I have a Laptop, Pioneer (bought in Australia 2004) so, not a young one.
Window XP
Intel(R) celeron(R) M
processor 1,50GHz
kloksnelheid 1,50GHz 768M8

Graphic card; ATI mobility Radeon 9600/9700 series.

On my screen, everywhere are litlle stripes/dots, which makes it hard to read something. And it gets worst everyday.....

Anyone , an idea on what to do???
Thanks, Nikki

Coloured stripes, esp. green?

Most likely, your graphics processor or other related components are overheating, dust tends to build up over time and cripple the cooling. If this has been happening for a while already, chances are it might be permanently damaged already, but trying to blow out the dust might just fix the problem. You're going to have to be careful, though, dusting laptop internals can be a tough job, since you might have to open it up a little, or at worst dismantle it altogether.

Oh and don't use a vacuum. Using one can result in static electricity zapping your computer beyond repair.

Have you got a monitor? Connect your laptop to another monitor, if everything fine, it would be the problem of your laptop display. If it looks the same, it means it would be problem of your gpu.

Anyway, it is the chrismas time for new laptop :D

thanks

Thanks Guys...
I do think it is an overheating problem. As it only accurs (and gets worsted) when the laptop has been going for a while.
So,
I checked ,'how to clean laptop fans', And, I never have seen so much built up dust! So, that might have been the problem. Carefully I cleaned it, and so far, it is working again without stripes and dots....
I hope it stays like this.
Anyway Thanks a lot!!
Nikki.
