Monitor Issue

hi, i have a problem with my monitor....its a 4 year old 17" CRT monitor. my problem is that there is wierd "streaks" across the screen. i have tried lots of different things to try and fix it, but none have been successful. can anyone tell me what is wrong / if i can fix it?


p.s. i cant really describe what it looks like right now, ill edit my post if i think of a better description...please try to help

Its probably on its way out, seing as its 4 years old!!
Have you tryed changing the refresh rate?

ok thanks, i lowerd the refresh rate from 75htz to 60htz and its improved it a bit....

thats nothing my monitor is about 8 years old and it works fine lol.

Try changing the cable for a high quality screened cable if you can. My old unscreened cable made the image go blurry.
Try degaussing the screen, that will often help the picture quality.

i might try chaning the cable....

i have tried degausing it many times...it doesnt make a difference
