monitor jitter when not at 60Hz refresh

My Sony CPD-200ES jitters (rotationally) by perhaps 0.5mm at the corners at all refresh rates other than 60Hz (more noticeably when closer to 60Hz). I suspect poor AC current from the wall or EM noise. I've turned off other devices in the apartment and used different outlets to no avail. I suspect a thermostat.

Any suggestions?

Really? Why is it okay at (only) 60Hz?

The performance at 60Hz is perfect at all resolutions. It's jittery (though otherwise fine) at all other refresh rates (and resolutions), including 56 Hz.

Many websites suggest that such jitter, in general, could be due to E&M fields or line noise from motors, dimmers, etc.

What, particularly, makes you say my monitor is about to break, as opposed to the other problems?

Noisy AC would do it for ya... soemthing you'd have to check up on yourself though. To rule out devices in your immediate area, would it be feasible to test the monitor on a friend's computer or something?

In either case the possibility is there that the monitor is on it's way out.
