ahhh this is not good :(

i have a 24" hp w2408h monitor and i was running it on my xbox 360 till the screen started to artefact so i checked to see if it was a problem with the screen by opening the OSD but that was fine so if figured it had to be the GPU chip on the xbox as i know how xbox tend to die a lot and then it did die and i got the hardware failure message 74

so i rang up Microsoft and they tell me that its not covered by the 3 year warranty an its going to cost me £74-94 to fix :(

i thought forget that and put my screen on my pc sorted out all the software on it and the res and ran it for a couple of days and now my PC is doing the same (the Artefact problem)

:mad::mad:

so again i check the OSD and that it fine
it there any chance that it is the screen haveing some sort of power problem and overloading the GPU down the HDMI or VGA cable ?

really having trouble reading this right now so sorry if its not all correct :confused::confused::confused:

any help would be great thanks guys ...

I HAVE CHANGED THE MONITOR AND THE ARTEFACTING IS STILL PRESENT

SO I RELIVE THAT THE sCREEN HAS FRYED IT CAN ANY ONE SPEAK OF ANY EXPERINCE OF THIS ?

SORR FOR CAPS CANT SEEN THE LEETERS OTHER WISE

:( :(

NEED HELP SHOULD I CONTACT hp AND ASK THEM ?

um, you probably cant read this too well, so here goes.

MY GUESS WOULD BE THAT THE MONITOR'S ARE FINE. I DONT KNOW WHAT CODE YOU GOT OR WHAT IT MEANS BUT IF THE ARTIFACTS PERSIST EVEN ON A NEW MONITOR, THEN THE VIDEO CARD JUST NEEDS REPLACING.

artefacts are intermittent now i know that the card is dead now but is posable that it was the screen that has fried it
since both the GPU in my pc and the GPU chip in my xbox have died in a week whiles connected to that screen.

I don't think it is a coincidence

Does it do it when you have your other monitor plugged in, or just with the hp?

Try another monitor on the xbox?

I really doubt a monitor could fry both GPU's... Hmmm.

i just jumped to the wrong conclusion :o
