Monitor not working

I have a pc I built myself a few years ago and I haven't turned it on in about a year. Well I just moved it into the computer room and turned it on but the monitor screen is blank. When I switch to a different port in the video card a green light led lights up on the monitor and then turns orange. I've tried switch monitors and the same things happens. I've also checked all connections on the motherboard and everything looks to be connected. Both the pc and monitor have been sitting in a climate controlled room.

Please help.

Thanks

Have you tried pulling out all the modules of RAM except one? Test each module of RAM individually and see if you get the same results. Put a RAM module in the slot closest to the processor when testing it.

I don't think it's the RAM, I think you have a faulty motherboard but I would do the RAM test anyway.

I might also add, have you tried two monitors on the new video card?

Also, when you stored this computer was it in a place that had hot temperatures? Or did the place you store the personal computer at have a large temperature variance (would it get really hot then cold)?

Thermal paste could be messed up if it was in a place where the temperature varied alot, i had an old old system with a 600mhz coppermine with exposed die(pre heatspreader days) and i had to put some new as5 on it for it to even start up...go figure.

Thanks for the responses. I've tried pulling the ram one by one and still nothing. Also checked the thermal paste and it looks good. The pc was stored in a guest bedroom so yes it was kept out of the heat.
