hey ppl, hows it going...

I keep experiencing my monitor turning off ! and its doing my headin
It first started yesterday when i turned the PC on then the screen went blank. I thoght that the pc crashed at first then i could hear windows loading up. So i tryed turning the monitor off and on and still nothing. Then i pressed Alt + Tab. then the screen turned back on. Now if does it after every 2-3mins or so and in a right pain in the ass.It used to run fine but ever since i have OC`d my CPU to 2.7 the screen keeps turning off. Could that be the problem.
Ive done mems and cpu stabibility tests and it all seems ok. The temps are really low too, around 25-32c CPU and chipset. Also i have a PCI lock on @ 33.3mhz and a PCI-X lock on @ 100mhz.

Im i gonna have to bite the bullet and underclock the CPU :( or is there summin i have missed ??

cheers for your time guys :D

You could most likely rule out OCing as the cause with a fault in the monitor itself compared to other hardware issues that could develope. How old is the monitor itself and what type is it? Generally crts are have a good average of around the approximate 17,000 or so hours life span. The lcd however according to some estimates averages upwards of 50,000 hours.

If you have been running the monitor(crt) for a few years now it sounds like it's ready for the recycle bin at your town's or city's waste disposal site. If it is still under a warranty by dealer/manufacturer don't service yourself. Ship it right back.

Cheers m8 for ya reply, yeah its about 5+ yrs old. I`ll look into getting a new one then if thats the case :D

EDIT: Its a CRT 19" packardbell from PC world UK. I got it with my first PC.
