Monitor or Desktop Problem?

I see screen for a split second at boot, then goes black - if i turn monitor on and off, i can see the screen for a split sec, then goes black again.

Have you tried changing out the cable? Only way to diagnose that would be changing the cable, and if that doesnt work, changing out the display with a spare to see if its the display or gpu.
