monitor problem - out of range

i'm having trouble with my CRT when i upgraded my g-card. it says "out of range" in a small blue window with a black screen behind. this usually happens when loading up a game, loading up my autodesk maya or just simply browsing images from explorer.

QUESTIONS:
1. will changing my monitor to LCD fix the problem?
2. is there something wrong with the g-card i bought?
3. is my motherboard not compatible with my g-card?

its an ATI 9600pro AGP 8X by the way...

thanks in advance!:)

Try installing the card then using a different monitor to check if its ok. Then if it is ok lower the res to summin like 800x600 and plug it back into your old one. If it still dont work try lowering the hertz down to 60 and try again.

If its still black then Im guessing its a g-card issue.

EDIT: or try lowering the rez and hertz while u have your old card installed then install your new card.

I've had that problem a few times, but only on certain games. Check the manual for the game and make sure there isn't something that could cause that problem. There's normally a way that you can change the vid card settings and have them set specifically for one application.
