I have a Samsung SyncMaster 223BW monitor. It's less than 24 months old, but lately I've been having some problems with it.
After my monitor has been switched on for a few hours, it will switch itself off and then on straight away again. This has started to happen more frequently, and starting to last longer when it switches off (currently at about 2-3 seconds).
Before this monitor, I had a (crap) Acer monitor, and it gave the same problem, and about 2 months after the problem started, it became so bad that the monitor would switch off the instant you would turn it on, and I couldn't use it at all. I bought the Samsung because of their decent record of reliability, hoping I wouldn't have the same problem.
I'm going to assume that since my machine is running the majority of the day, that is it a problem with the heatsync and the monitor is over heating (I am having the same problems that I had with the Acer, and that was the cause of the Acer's problems)
Is there anything I can do to fix this problem with the Samsung before it gets any worse, or will I need to have it replaced/repaired? If I do require it to be repaired, how much would I be looking at to have it fixed?
