I'm planning on buying a new monitor. The age old question asked when you are going to buy a monitor is "CRT or LCD?" I've read all the articles on this subject and I know all the pros and cons. So far I'm leaning toward getting an LCD, but there's one thing that is holding me back. LCD's have a lower native resolution than CRT's. Generally speaking, you don't want to set an LCD out of it's native resolution because the picture quality will go down.
If I get an LCD I'll be getting this:

If I get a CRT I'll get this:

I'm a gamer so that's what I'm most concerned about with this purchase. Refresh rates aren't really a problem nowadays, as long as you get an LCD that's fast enough, you won't really notice the difference. So does the resolution matter enough to spend more money and buy the CRT or should I go with the LCD?
