Monitor question.

I recently bought a SyncMaster 940bw with both analog and DVI. Analog work just fine, but when I switch over to Digital (there is a button on the monitor) There is nothing but black. I know it is receiving something because I can right click and get properties, but the box will not show up. I think I need to adjust it but I can't if I cannot see the menu to do so from the screen. I guess I juest really don;t know how to correct it. Thanks for the help if you can offer some. BTW the auto adjust feature is disabled in digital mode. And yes I do have them attached correctly. Anyways... help... :-)

Auto adjust is just for analog/VGA.

So how are you connected? You have both VGA and DVI connected to your video card, or are you swapping? I'm just a little confused when you mention going between the connections but you don't mention changing cables/connections.

Both are connected to my video card, I have a x1300 (PCIe) by visiontek if you needed to know...

Right click on the desktop, proporties, settings, advanced, and somewhere in there you should see an option for displays. Be sure both ports are enabled and set to CLONE.

You also might be able to just connect the DVI connection and restart the computer. The video card might detect which plug is being used, and your video card should also detect and autoswitch if VGA's not getting a signal.
