Monitor Screen Adjustment Software

Hi!!

I am wondering whether there is any software which changes the monitors configuration to make it totally square and fit right to the edges? It's just that my monitor isn't exactly square and it doesn't fit the edges either. Does anyone know of anything/any software that would do the trick?

Thanks,

Rambo.

Why dont you just adjust your monitor so it goes to the edge? There should be buttons to do it on your monitor, or at least some buttons to bring up an options screen where you can do it. (it should be horizontal/vertical position and/or a stretching/size option). Hope that made sence :P

Software wouldn't do it. It's nothing to do with the image going to your monitor, it's what the monitor does with the image once it's got it. Like Atomic said, there's usually adjustable settings on the monitor. Some monitors also have an "auto adjust" feauture which takes out the hassle of doing all the fine tuning yourself.

That's the trouble...I've looked for the 'Auto Adjust' feature, but it's not there :(

I can change it by the buttons on the monitor, but I'm not able to adjust it properly because the 'Geometry' is changed, and that is like the curved angles on the sides and etc..... Oh well, it doesn't matter....

Software wouldn't do it

One question:

How come I can right-click on desktop and go to properties and click on my Graphics card tab. I can then go to the correct section and I am able to change the position of the screen. Well, isn't that a kind of 'software' ?

I know what you're talking about, the thing is re: what i said above, the graphics card options alter the image that's sent to your monitor. I've had a look and I dont think software exists that does anything more complex than what the gfx card utility does.

I gave CRT monitors up a while ago now, there's much less hassle involved with TFT's. (Although I dread starting up another CRT vs. TFT feud, maybe I'd better retract that statement :P)

Your first option should be to use the options for your monitor :-). check out it's menu's and you will be able to adjust it to your liking as said above. You could also use the driver options of your videocard also as I believe was also said above :-).
