monitor screen

I am not sure if this is where I am to put this question- my screen has about a 1 inch 'stripe' from top to bottom that is a bit different in color from the rest of the screen. It does not stop me from reading anything. Is it because some crystals are broken? I have 2 more years on my warrenty- it is an Acer, and I don't know how slow they are to repair/return. Thanks

If you bought it in the last 30 days I would contact the store where you got it (actually I would that regardless as they might handle it for you), or I would get a hold of Acer and try to get a replacement.

Some companies have policies where you need to have a certain number of dead pixels before they consider it defective (Some as high as 15 [sidenote: I would be so pissed if I had 14 and they refused!]) but if you have a stripe running the height of your screen, they should get you a new one.

OK- so you think it is 'dead' pixels even though I can still read everything- the color is just off?I will have to send the computer to Acer, as I bought it straight from an online company.
