Monitor scrolling when I turn up resolution

I run two 19" wide screen monitors and have it set up as one large display but when I up the resolution to 2880 x 900 its like it's too big for the monitor and it scrolls over when I move the mouse to the edge to show me the rest of the screen before flipping over to the other monitor. I've been trying to fix it but I can't figure out what's wrong. I'm running it on a lower resolution that isn't wide screen and its bugging the crap out of me so if anyone knows what to do to stop this problem please let me know.

I'm not familiar with dual displays, but are you certain that when both monitor use the stretch desktop configuration, that the horizontal resolution, should,in fact, be doubled? Have you used the native 1440 x 900 resolution separately on each?
