Monitor shows diferent resolution then XP configurations

My HP Compaq 8510 is set to a resolution of 1680x1050-60 but my PH Compaq LA2205wg Display detect a resolution of 1600x1200-60 it shows it on the on screen menu.
It is connected over DVI Singlewire and a Desktop DockingStation. Over VGA it is correct but i need the VGA for a Desktop computer as well...

Help! because it is unsharp... and i can't fix it with other resolutions.

Are you trying to say it doesn't show a 1600x1200 setting at all under DVI?

Have you looked up drivers and firmware from your monitor's manufacturer website?
