Monitor Speakers dont sound Right?

Hi,
I bought a second hand computer its ok Packard Bell about 1yr old from day 1 the sound coming out of the speakers on the monitor were really high pitched so i bought additional speakers (2) which done no good and then today i got a Monitor from my friend who uses it all the time and works perfect but not on my computer sound is still like chipmunks speaking.

Anyone reconise the problem please help.

What media player are you using???
Have you tried a different media player??
Have you tried different songs??
What is the OS??
Have you tried reinstalling the sound driver???
Try contacting the person you bought the computer off and ask them if they had the same problem.
