I have a Dell 4550; Pentium 4 2.4GHz with 512 MB of Ram, and XP Home with service pack 2 installed. I also have a partition that includes SuSe 10. My pc will boot up but as soon as the boot loader pops up I get a screen that looks like a tv with bad reseption, green lines going vertical that display the last screen but they are transparent. I know that it is not my monitor because I have tried it on both my Dell 9550 and my HP mx75, My HP sayed to Please check "PC display settings" So it must be something wrong with my tower and my ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro video card. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Thanks for any comments.

Thanks for the tips checked my video card and all the connections and I think the source of the problem is that my adapter that connects my monitor cable to my tower one of the two pins that hold it in place broke off in my video card so the adapter is not able to go in all the way how can I remove the pin from the video card any suggestions?

wow...i was just looking at my 9600 pro and i don't believe there is anyway to remove something like that...seems the part that would need to be removed to work on it is soldered in place...knowing that its hard to tell if the card is causing the problem or the monitor so even if you buy a new card it may still have this problem. it may be possible if you look at the adapter for the card to remove that little blue inside piece with all the holes in it thats just a protective covering and maybe remove the pin that way. other than that im not sure what to say sorry to hear that
