Monitor's error message: OSD Locked.

I am not at my monitor, right now, and could be wrong about the abbreviation given in the title. But I am reasonably sure that the message stated 'OSD Locked'.

The other day, I attempted to go through the process of calibrating my monitor. I have one of those calibrating devices that I was going to use on this monitor, for the first time. Before doing so, I began depressing the menu button - on the monitor - so as to gain an idea of where I would need to direct myself, once the process of calibrating had begun. I could get no further than at that point of button pressing because of the OSD Locked condition. I attempted the same, a number of additional times, but all to no avail. My monitor is an HP model, which I bought about a year and a half, ago. Why it is giving that message is something I just don't understand, and I have no idea as to how to go about defeating the problem.

I am a photographer who's aiming to begin print-printing at home. As such, it is critical that my monitor is calibrated. I wonder if there is ANYONE, out there, who might be able to direct me to what it is that I need to do to correct the condition.

Advanced thanks.

I just came across some information that may prove to help me out, and I will post it here in the event that someone else may find themselves faced with the same dilemma.

According to what I just read, depressing and holding the MENU button for 10 seconds is to supposed to unlock the OSD if it is locked - as well as to lock the OSD if locking is desired. Hopefully, this fixes my situation.
