I need to build a monster 2k$ desktop for my cousin. I need to select the parts. Please check these parts out. Please feel free to comment on the parts I have chosen and please give suggestions.
He needs this for extreme gaming and he has no idea about parts so I have to select the parts.

Build generally looks fine.

I'm not a fan of Asus monitors though and I'm not sure that the 3 slot cooler on the 580 is entirely necessary, but I guess that's up to you.

Also, if this is just a gaming rig (and won't be running heavily multithreaded applications), then save some cash and get the 2500k. The HT on the 2600k will give you no performance increase in games.

How about getting the 2500k and saving another 100$ in other parts and directly get the GTX 590?

You won't really see much of a performance gain (if any) from using a 590 as opposed to a 580 on a 24" monitor.

The 590 is really only necessary for resolutions above 1920 x 1200.

This man speaks the truth!

Also I would go with the 2500k instead of the 2600k for the same reason above...

Yeah its for gaming only,
So the only change is 2500k for the cpu, hmm the build is now 1890$ anything I should get for the 100$ left?

How ya gonna install the os? Where does a game disc go? :D

Extra dough? Flash card reader/writer? Other drive bay gizmos, like fan controller/system monitor/etc. 1800 or 1866 RAM.
