more memory or less with higher mhz

i have a pair of 512Mb memory wich is ddr333 in my old computer. my new computer currently has a set of ddr400 (1gb) 512*2. should i just stick with the 1gb that i have or add those. knowing that if i add the ddr333 my ddr400 i s going to speed to 333mhz. tell me what you think.

What are the other specs? If its a mid-ranged gaming pc, i would stick with the 1GB DDR400, otherwise i would go with the 2GB.

clock how long it takes to do certain tasks, like boot up. Then put your other memory in. Compare the times. If its faster, leave it in there! If its not, take it out!
