more ram vs faster ram

hey everone,

i currently have in my computer 512 mb of ram @ 400 mhz. i recently obtained another two sticks that are also 512 mb but @ 333 mhz. would it be more beneficial to put the sticks in and raise my total memory but slow it down or just leave in the 512 i have and not use the new one. i do a lot of autocad and some gaming but on lower setting if that help at all. any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

hmm in this case i would probably go for capacity. you double your capacity to 1gig at a lose of only 67mhz so i think it's worth the trade off

I agree, in this case I would take more capacity over slightly more speed.

i think there will be hardly no difference at all in terms of speed so go for more ram,....

well imo faster ram isnt much good if you dont have enough of it

yeha if i had 3 gb 533mhz ram then i would start thinking that the speed would be helpful. but yeah...

True, more RAM would be more beneficial in this case! The bus speed with that little difference therein won't affect it much!
