More ram, worse performance.

I've recently bought 4GB ram more than my previously 2 GB, so I've now got 6 GB ram, but that "upgrade", as I see it, made my gaming graphics and etc worse, any ideas how to correct this? Should I just take the 4 GB that I bought out and throw in the trash ^^?

what board and GPU do you have? Also, do you have 32 bit or 64 bit windows? If its only 32 bit, then you will not see all of your ram over 3.2 GB.

I don't have a chance to open my computer at the moment, but I know that I'm running 64-bit windows, but the weïrd thing is that when I attached my new 4 GB of RAM my game went down from High Graphics to low, which I can't seem to understand. I'll get back later with the information on the board and etc. Thanks so far :)

so, I take it that it is a prebuilt? or at least you didnt build it yourself.
Just an idea, did you try to set the game back to high?

Negative. Post specs of purchased RAM. Also post specs of original RAM.

Most likely you purchased RAM that is slower than the original RAM.

^^ Ditto. You've probably bought slower RAM than your original 2GB. If your 2gb's were... let's say 1600mhz, and you purchased <1033mhz, you've got a bottleneck.

Also, how many modules are you using? If your original 2GB was 2x1GB, and your new 4GB are 2x2GB, you have unevenly sized modules.
