I will be playing an audio cd and then at times I will come upon a web site that also has music playing. And the site does not show anywhere to shut the music off.... is there anyway this can be done.... it's like I'm hearing 2 different music sounds at the same time. Thank you for the help.

You mean while playing a music CD the browser windows pops up and starts playing music from a web site?
I'll have my audio cd playing in my cd rom and I'll be browsing the internet and I will click into a web site that has music playing on it and I will be hearing my cd playing and the music from the web site both at the same time. I know some web sites will have that little player thing on them where you can click stop to make it stop playing but some don't and I would like to know if there is a way that I can make the music on the site stop playing.

Have to look that up, never thought about it, good question
Go to internet options- advance- uncheck play sounds in web pages- but after that no sound in web pages till you recheck it

Another 'solution' is, if you have two sound cards present, set the primary soundcard as the one not[/]i] connected to the speakers. Using certain media players you can redirect audio to a specific sound device ... thus when you mute your primary soundcard, you can still hear stuff
