More voltage to tighten timings?

What do you mean when you say tighten up? If you mean lower, then probably not. CL timings are set within the module itself, increasing the voltage will increase the rate that data can be outputted from the RAM.

(E.G. Increasing voltyage could lead to a 0.5 Gb/s increase in data transfer speeds.

Usually if you loosen the timings you can clock modules faster without having to bump up the voltage so it might work in reverse

i just tried changing my settings, according to the manual all the settings are bios, but when i went to the correct area for the memory settings the relevant options are missing... not impressed

selecting manual clock values etc makes no difference to the options available... i think the manual shows a bios that was very old or was never used on the retail product

With Athlon64s you dont directly adjust memory speeds but rather you adjust them by a combination of corespeed and memory:core ratio (which determines a divider which in turn dtermines the memory speed). To answer your origiinal question the generic answer is "yes"
