Yeah, I know. Basicly, there whole damn system just runs beyond slow. Things also crash and freeze up frequently, computer likes to just not shut down at times. I was more just seeing if you saw anything that throws up any flags for you. Also, I'm thinking a reformat might even be easier. There was also no anti-virus/malware/spyware protection for about a year.

Then most likely its all full of old temp files and such. Have you used ccleaner to clean them all up? That will definately speed a system back up again. If you want to reformat, thats fine, just let me know if you want to try cleaning this up to see what we can get out of it.

I've run ccleaner. The problem I think is all the things running. I'm not sure which process is esential and which isn't, not sure if trial and error killing is best. Also, is there a good reg cleaner? I know ccleaner has one, but is there something that will work better maybe?

I'll stop the lenovo programs then. I was holding off on combofix, but I'll run that. Also, I was looking at the startup list and found something strange.

Uncheck the blank entry. Post the combofix log when complete.

So I ran combofix, the only problem is that it wouldn't create a log. It finished running and rebooted but I let it sit for about 30 minutes and nothing.

Navigate to c:\combofix.txt and see if that file exists, that's the log file. If not try running it again.

Their Registry Cleaner, registry Defrag, Disk Defrag, and Boostspeed(the utilities it comes with) seemed to really help my computer speed up.

Just go in the options of each to make sure you get a thorough clean, like doing the Disk Defrag AND optomize, checking all the boxes for the cleaner, and such.

CCleaner also has in it's tools Uninstall, StartUp, and System Restore, you can look through there for what you can get rid of. Try to leave a few restore points.
