Just brought a used PC, the hard drive won't register so i went into bios and load bios setup defaults, all that comes up now when i switch on is

A drive error

press F1 to resume, but it keep on trying to boot from "a" drive

looking in the standard CMOS features its not detecting any IDE, even the DVDRW isn't showing

HELP please

first things first - is there a hard drive in there, and is it properly connected (ide/sata and power?)
If not, needs to be corrected.

Was this Dead on Arrival, or did it just start happening?

What is the make/model (if any) of the computer, and which bios is running?

Other than that the only thing I can suggest is to go into bios and make sure that it registers that there is a hard drive in the machine, if there is one.
