Motherboard and GPU recommendations

Motherboard recommendations

So! I need some recommendations on a good gaming Motherboard + RAM for aprox. 300$. I already have a 3GHz Dual-Core Processor, but my motherboard is getting rather out-dated, and it can't support the more convenient RAM chips, so I need to upgrade it.

Oh, and my Processor is an Intel 775 Socket.

Thanks for any help!

What kind of dual core? A core 2 duo is quite a bit different than a 3ghz pentium D...

Tell us the exact processor you have.

Hey, I would reccomend this for a $300 budget. On a motherboard and some memory.

Mobo

Ram

But really I would reccomend that you upgrade your ram, motherboard and cpu

I currently have a nvidia evga 680i, 8gb ddr2 1000mhz memory, and a intel core 2 duo e7300 2.66mhz that I can sell you. If you want pm me then.

The RAM Russian linked to is Triple channel DDR3...That XFX board uses Dual Channel DDR3. Do not buy the ram recommended. Many people have memory problems with that motherboard. That is because they do not buy EPP 2.0 RAM. XFX clearly states on the website that the motherboard needs EPP 2.0 RAM.

I am actually thinking about buying the same motherboard...it is in my Newegg shopping cart right now:D Here is some EPP 2.0 RAM that is compatible with it. I have done a lot of reading about it and many people are very satisfied with it:)

Here are a few more options for RAM.

I would only buy this motherboard if you run Nvidia Graphics cards. Some would say otherwise but that's my point of view;)

Damn, sorry about that ram reccomendation i was thinking about a i7 motherboard, and was picking out ram for him. lol

The XFX motherboard would not be good for you...that is an old processor and really would be a waste of money to throw a Pentium processor in there.

We need to know what oter hardware you have. Please list all the components in your system. (Graphics card, Power Supply, RAM) If it is a prebuilt (HP, Dell, Acer, Gateway, ect...) Please post the exact model number so we can look at the specs and see what is best.

You can get a nice LGA 775 socket motherboard and some good DDR2 RAM for about $150 total.

GeForce 9800GT, Asus P5PL2 MOBO, 1GB RAM, 750W PSU

It's getting pretty out-dated, if you can also add perhaps a good CPU for maybe 100-200$ that could also be achievable for me. Thanks!

Quick edit: The Norwegian internet store which I do most of my shopping just released a "Upgrade Offer" with:
Intel Core™ 2 Duo E7400 2,8GHz, Socket 775, 3MB, FSB 1066, Boxed
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3LR, P45, Socket-775, ATX, ICH10R, GbLAN, DDR2, PCI-Ex(2.0)x16
Crucial DDR2 PC6400 2GB KIT CL6, Kit w/two matched DDR2 PC6400 1GB CL6

For aprox. 350$, how does that sound, is that any decent upgrades for me?

I don't have much knowledge about these things, so any help is strongly appreciated!
