i just bought this mb http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=13-131-232&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=13#scrollFullInfo

when i boot up i have no video. when i have my 4850 card installed the 2 red lights on the backside of the card stay lit (the only time they light up in my other desktop is right when i hit the power button to shut down). no video when i hook up my 5770 either. any ideas?

thanks

I would take the video card out if it has intigrated video. Use that first, after you get it up and running, then put the video card in.

Is the motherboard the only thing you replaced? Is the monitor set up correctly? Check for loose connection? Did you change hdd's(drivers). Perhaps a bios or driver update?

yes. the mb is the only thing replaced. i think the board was bad because it wouldn't recognize my xfi and wireless.

monitor works fine. connections are good.
single harddrive with xp installed

how can i update driver/bios if i can't see the screen?

thanks

as far as i can tell there's nothing touching the card that would cause it to short. i'll look again tonight.

this board does have a rep for being DOA, but that's the only thing bad about it apparently lol.

When you put the board in, did you put the brass standoffs in? They go onto your case, and your motherboard then screws into them, they look like this:

That's good. Next I'd check all powersupply connections. Just to rule it out, disconnect every power connector and reconnect them, make sure they clip in as well.

When one of my SATA cables got stretched and broken, it prevented my system from booting or didn't show the hard drive, or boot from it. So check all data connections as well.
