Motherboard boots up twice...

hey guys so i recently built a new build and the motherboard resets itself.. Like i push the power button then after 10 second it turns off then back on by itself then it loads windows....any solutions? Shld i return it to microcenter and get a gigabyte board?

My specs:
Asus p8z68-v pro
Intel i7 2600k
Gtx 570
Ripjaws 8gb 1600 timing 8
2x barracudas...
stealthxstream 2 PSU
 
Did you use the brass standoffs between the motherboard and case? Build the system outside of the case and see if it boots up properly. What is the exact model of power supply you have?
 
You never did say if you tried building it outside of the case. Another couple options would be trying a different power supply, basically one with a high powered single rail instead of 4 lower powered rails at 18 amps a piece. Also you may want to reset the cmos by removing the battery.
 
You may have just taken the battery out but did you remove power from the power supply, remove the battery and then press the power button on the case a few times to discharge any remaining power and then wait 5 minutes. Then reconnect everything and try booting up.
 
Sounds like you have a short somewhere. Either a standoff in the wrong place or the case power button maybe.
