Motherboard/Case Issues

So i got this new computer and ive hooked everything up correctly. The MB recieves standby power but when i press the power button on the tower, it doesnt turn on, any suggestions out there, Id like to hear'em

Bad switch, switch not connected correctly, power connector not connected or connected incorrectly, possibly motherboard shorted to case.

Also, the kick yourself ones-- not plugged into the wall and PSU not turned on.

Probably the switch not hooked up to the motherboard correctly, that would be the easiest mistake to make in my mind. I've also done one of the kick me ones (not turning on the PSU)

I think we all have done that, the freak out wondering what is wrong and then the relief when you find out what it really was caused by.

But yes make sure that all the little plugs are plugged into your mobo correctly because that can make a difference.

I recall a guy I worked with who spent nearly six hours trying to diagnose a power problem and it turned out he forgot to flip a power switch...
