Hi New here, and hoping I've posted this in the right place!
New here, and hoping I've posted this in the right place!
My son's pc is a gaming machine, which has been 'added to' by myself over the past couple of years to improve spec and performance. ( graphics card, Ram, Power supply)
My son is trying to play newer games and is running 'can I run this' to see if his pc can manage the strain! Everything is fine except the cpu speed, which is only 2.2.
My question is, can I change the CPU on his motherboard, which one do I buy, and how easy is it??!! Would I need to reinstall windows? ( kinda assuming yes)
Would I need to reinstall windows? ( kinda assuming yes)
I have found details of the motherboard here.. http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/4Core1600-D800/
... but don't understand from that what cpu to buy and if I can replace it easily. He currently has intel Pentium dual cpu E2200.
Would really appreciate any help with this, thanks in advance!
