so i tried to overclock my quad core and i have done it before, but after i do the computer wont start up, like the computer will start but i cant get to any screen. what i did for that was just reset the motherboard and it worked but this time when i tried it, it just wont work. so, is there any way i can get to the bios screen again?

If you didn't manage to cook anything you may have stuck the battery back in too fast. The smart move is to refer to the user manual on clearing the cmos in case you also have to move a jumper back and forth along with pulling the battery on the board.

thats the thing though, the computer still works and everything but i just dont know what i am doing. everything is working right. it is just being weird because i tried to overclock my piece of crap quad core, maybe it is the motherboard but i dont know. i still wish i got a core 2 duo. if i bought a new mo.bo. would i have to reinstall a ton of stuff or, would i even have to do anything other than put in the motherboard?

Once you swap boards out you generally have to perform a full reinstall of everything. Unlike simply swapping out a card or cpu a board change is a major change in the hardware profile created by Windows as well as all of the drivers for the first board.

When first powering up or simply rebooting once you first see the ide items being listed you simply press the DEL or other assigned key for entering the bios setup just before the post tests complete. Some model cpus will never be ocers while another quad might. It's the same for Core 2s as well.

sounds like you need to talk to someone who's done it more than just once. if you need some help feel free to contact me through PM, AIM or MSN.
