motherboard dead?

I tried powering on my PC after 3 days off, and the fans came on but no image on the monitor and no post beeps.
I checked the cables, the monitor- both good.
Video card and main fan running. Lights working on cd drive, power and motherboard, but not on HDD.
Hard drive is warm but doesn't feel or sound like it's moving.
I unplugged and put back video card and ram.
Took out motherboard battery and put back- NOW HAVE MAIN FIRST SCREEN DISPLAYED (Asus P4P800-VM motherboard Pentium 4, press del for setup) but won't boot up from there. Reset 3 times, same screen happens.
What to try next?
 
Have you tried leaving one stick of ram in? or do you have another power supply to try?

I had a similar problem and it was my Power supply, it would post but then shut off after a few moments. The hardrive probally isnt the problem, you would usuall receive an error in the boot
 
You might want to try disconnecting the hard drive to see if it will finish posting. I've had bad hdd's that will cause it freeze at post.
