alright, so in school ive been putting a computer together during my free period with some spare parts. we are using the computers we make in certain ways for our LAN party our computer club is going to hold. now i have everything in the case and plugged in. just i have to get all the lil cables in the right spots but the mobo is not labeled very well. i dont remember much off the top of my head cept it is a dell pentium 2 mobo. if there is some like site which has a list of diagrams or any information bout where to go that'd be great.

umm....call up dell support and tell them the model number of your computer and they might be able to come up with a model. Not that sure if they can cause its such an old make.

A pen II, dont know about being a Lan machine, but pretty straight foward if it wont go it doesnt fit,Most IDE cables are sloted and will only go on right unless pushed really hard Ha, just make sure the harddrive is master on the primary IDE. some are labeled 1 and 0 and some 1 and 2

Also connect the wiring to your motherboard. The power button, the reset button, the speaker, and the LED emitters are all connected at this stage. Consult your user's guide for the wiring schematic. It is pretty easy to figure out. This is the final step, and if done correctly, your computer should be ready to go.

this is the only step left, i have all the other things connected like HDD, floppy, cd-rom connected just the stupid switches and what not remain.

On the board somewhere there should be a product # or S/N# If you can find that you can find the wiring guide online.

P.s. Dell boards usually use case specific blocks to plug into the LED's, speaker and switches.
P.p.s. If you can give more info on the board we may be able to find it (# of expansion slots, ram slots, Slot 1 or Socket 370 etc.)
